Job Description
Rangecon Pty Ltd. is a mining services company that has been in operation for 9 years. We have an underground division and a surface construction/civil component (ground division). Our plant and equipment include a fleet of LV’s, excavators, water trucks, road trains, loaders, graders, mobile batch plants, and specialized underground equipment that needs to be maintained and repaired. We sometimes also need to fabricate our own equipment while onsite, as many of our jobs are in extremely remote areas of Australia. The position relates to the above equipment and fabrication needs, and we are looking for a full-time welder (welding and fabrication personnel) who would be responsible for repairs as well as fabrications on the above equipment and civil jobs.
Duties:
- Fabricate items to specifications.
- Interpret and understand all specifications.
- Carry out MIG welding across all plants and equipment.
- Join metal components and subcomponents.
- Perform repair work on all plants and equipment.
- Complete all welding tasks in a timely manner.
- Examine welding for quality and specifications after welding.
- Move and position materials as needed for tasks.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning.
- Follow all WH&S specifications and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of welding best practices.
- Maintain a tidy work environment.
- Organize the usage of tools.
- Identify any issues with tooling or materials and raise them with the foreman.
