Welding Supervisor

Job Description
Based in the Northern Regions of South Australia, Gadaleta Steel Fabrication delivers projects for clients across the infrastructure, mining, and industrial sectors. We are a structural, mechanical, and crane hire business providing a full range of steel fabrication, procurement, project construction, and maintenance solutions, and crane hire to clients.
GSF is seeking an experienced and motivated welding supervisor to join our team. This position is based on our Whyalla workshop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify the required welding procedures needed for specific projects.
- Liaise with suppliers to develop new weld procedures where needed.
- Supervise new welder qualifications within the workshop.
- Liaise with mechanical testing and NDT contractors to complete NDT requirements.
- Review fabrication drawings and associated traceability documentation, including ITPs, weld maps, and welding registers, and liaise with the workshop supervisor.
- Maintain company welder traceability databases and records on welded workshop fabrications and onsite welding of the client’s steel.
- Review completed NDT and MDR reports and welder proficiency, including defective welds, and remediate repair solutions.
- Proven QA/QC experience to AS 1796 Certificate10 pressure vessel and AS2214 Certificate 10 structural steel, or equivalent qualifications.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in similar role (Welding Supervisor).
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Desired).
- Preferably with trade back ground (Boilermaker or Welder).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
