Job Discription
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter and Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing the aesthetic appeal of our hotel by applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to our interior and exterior surfaces. The Painter and Decorator will work closely with the maintenance team to ensure that the hotel's appearance reflects its high standards. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position.
- Role
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and smoothing them appropriately.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, and other surfaces.
- Mix and match paint colors and textures to ensure a consistent and visually appealing finish.
- Install and remove wallpaper, borders, and decorative elements as required.
- Repair and maintain surfaces, including patching holes, replacing drywall, and addressing other imperfections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify areas that require attention and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Comply with safety guidelines and regulations while working with paints, chemicals, and other materials.
- Keep inventory of painting supplies and equipment and notify the management of restocking needs.
- Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Painter and Decorator, preferably in a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
- Proficiency in various painting techniques and application methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a creative eye for color matching and design.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to painting and decorating.
- Physical stamina and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.
